Tending the Tides supports expectant and postpartum families through the ebbs and flows of early parenthood, offering food and herbs to nourish wellbeing.
In partnership with birthworkers and maternal health care organizations, we facilitate a flow of care, connection, and collective healing by uplifting plant-based culturally-specific herbalism practices that tend to the bodies, minds and spirits of new parents and newborns.
Rooted in reproductive justice, we work to expand access to farm fresh meals and medicine through SNAP, WIC and Oregon Farm Direct Dollars, centering Black, Latiné, Indigenous and Asian families most in need of affordable and nutritious food.
We also weave storytelling and yoga into Tending the Tides as practices that help families return to rhythm. Through guided movement, writing, interviews, and photography, parents are invited to reflect, rest, and document their journeys.
